Getting Ugly with Uglies from
The Apple Baking Company

Just thought I would send you a picture of Christopher Sanders, he is 10 and has lymphoma (cancer) of the upper intestines.  He just finished his first round of chemo and was so excited about getting to spend some time outdoors with his family.  There are 8 of his family members with him.  Mom found out 2 years ago she had a brain tumor, the operation was a success but has left her completely paralyzed on the left side of her face, the operation also left her deaf in her left ear and to top it off, Jaden who is 6 was ran over by a truck last September. e has fully recovered from that accident.  So you see God knew this family needed our help.  Thanks to all who have made this week possible for this family.  They are having a great time canoeing, tubing, fishing, exploring, riding the Bobcats, building bonfires, making smores and today they even took a swim in the (cold) New River.  I will add more pictures to our website at the end of the week.  Thanks again, you have made a little boy and his family very happy.  Camp New Hope is full of SMILES and HOPE this week.

Hi,
I'm currently thru hiking the
Appalachian Trail on the East Coast (2178.6 miles) with my two brothers and I have to tell you -- your "Ugly's" have gotten us through many cold and wet mornings with a smile.  The way we like to eat them for breakfast is to get up early and "toast" them over an open fire.  They are not only delicious, they are also very filling for a good morning of hiking.
I was so impressed with your Ugly's that once I was able to get access to the internet I had to take a look at your website.  As soon as I get home I will be ordering more of your product (t-shirts as well).  I would love to be able to upload a picture of the three of us eating an Ugly at camp, but it's hard to upload pictures on the road.  I look forward to buying more of your product while I'm "on the road" as well as when I get back to New Jersey.

An Apple Ugly always brings back fond memories of when I was little, every morning during the summer, on the way to swimming lessons, my Dad would by me two of the best Carolina treats, an Apple Ugly and a SunDrop. We have past the love of the Ugly down to the young ones in the family now. The Ugly to me is the best trip down "memory lane."

"I first fell in love with the Ugly in the cold winter of 1999. I had just discovered I was pregnant with my first child. The baby bump was begging me for something super yummy, so I went to the vending machine and discovered an Apple Ugly. I popped my Ugly in the microwave for 20 seconds, and voila! The most yummiest, most satisfying treat EVER!"

"I love to heat one in the microwave and, when heated, place it in a bowl with a few nice scoops of vanilla ice cream. Yummy!"
David Kissiah - Concord, NC
